FINANCIAL AID

The United Sports Foundation recognizes the need to raise funds in our communities and distribute them to families in need within those communities. Because of this, there are several area and sport specific programs that all fall under the United Sports Foundation Financial Aid Program. The Bob Masi Financial Aid/Scholarship was created to help support, primarily, but not limited to, soccer families in need of financial assistance with athletic tuition fees. Bob Masi was a father of three former Seacoast United players who lost his battle with cancer several years ago.  His sons Joe, Michael, and Eric all went on to captain their collegiate teams at Stonehill College, Bates College and the University of New Hampshire respectively.  The Jeni Plender fund was created in the name of a Bedford, NH soccer player who lost her battle with cancer, and is meant to help support soccer families from the Bedford, NH area. The Maine financial aid program is set up to help support soccer families from the seacoast area of Maine to the northern area of Maine. The Massachusetts financial aid program is set up to help support soccer families from the North Shore to the South Shore of Massachusetts. The Field Hockey financial aid program is set up to help support field hockey families in N.H. and Massachusetts.

All those seeking financial aid, from any geographical area or sport, must apply following the steps and requirements listed below. This scholarship will help support eligible families within all of the Seacoast United Sports Club footprint with partial payment of their travel sports club registration fees. The United Sports Foundation does not offer any “full scholarships” to play sports.

Families receiving these awards must remain up to date with their fees, must complete 10 hours of service with Seacoast United Sports Club at one or more of their events, or must complete 10 hours of volunteer service with the foundation throughout the 2022/23 Season. When all of those requirements are met, the scholarship will be applied to the athlete's account. You will not see this scholarship on your account until that time.

ABOUT BOB MASI

The Bob Masi Scholarship was named in honor of Bob Masi many years ago.  Sadly, Bob lost his battle with cancer at that time but not before leaving his mark as a wonderful person, coach, and devoted father and husband.

All three Masi boys played for Seacoast United and each of them have the distinct honor of being captains at their respective colleges.  Joe Masi was captain at Stonehill College, Michael Masi at Bates College, and Eric Masi at the University of New Hampshire.  Their ability, leadership, sportsmanship, and competitive edge on and off the field is a credit to how they were brought up by their parents and a wonderful tribute to Bob’s devotion to his life as a father, player, and coach.
